As a surfer and lover of nature, growing up in a small town on the Central Coast of NSW, Archy harnessed his observational skills. From a young age learning to watch the weather rolling over the bush and ocean, finding his way back to shore through rough surf or navigating his way through the bush to get home.

Combining his childhood, imagination and new inner city identities, Archy offers viewers an opportunity to discover and share glimpses of his experiences, weaving metaphorically and physically in his work, the intricate web of connections between himself and the world, much like the interplay of contrasts found in each painting. Furthermore, his surroundings and understandings have provided the inspiration required to challenge established norms and invite others to embrace alternative perspectives, ultimately inspiring new ways of thinking and contributing to positive societal change
